This Privacy Policy explains how WellVersed ("the App", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application. WellVersed is a Quranic Arabic vocabulary learning app that helps users learn the meanings of words found in the Qur'an.

Information We Collect

We collect the following information:

• Email address — collected only if you choose to provide it through the in-app signup prompt. This is optional; you may skip it and continue using the App without providing an email.
• Name — optionally collected alongside your email, if you choose to provide it.
• Learning progress data — including which lessons and words you've completed, your streak, and saved/bookmarked words. This data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to us unless explicitly noted otherwise below.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, device identifiers, or any other personal data beyond what is described above.

How We Use Your Information

If you provide your email address, we may use it to:

• Send you occasional updates about new lessons, features, or content within the App
• Communicate important changes to the App or this policy

We do not sell, rent, or share your email address or name with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Where Your Data Is Stored

Email addresses and names you provide are stored securely using Supabase, a third-party database and backend service provider. You can review Supabase's own privacy and security practices at supabase.com/privacy.

Your learning progress, streaks, saved words, and quiz history are stored locally on your device using standard mobile app storage. This data is not transmitted to our servers and stays on your device unless you uninstall the App or clear its storage.

Your Choices and Rights

• You may use the App without ever providing your email or name.
• If you have provided your email address and would like it removed from our records, you may contact us using the details below and we will delete it.
• You may uninstall the App at any time, which will remove all locally stored progress data from your device.

Children's Privacy

WellVersed is designed to be suitable for users of all ages, including children, under the guidance of a parent or guardian where appropriate. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what is described in this policy, and we do not require any personal information to use the core learning features of the App.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information you provide, including using industry-standard security practices provided by our backend service provider (Supabase). However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
